My Story
I get it! 15 years ago I was a real estate agent working really hard, doing fine professionally and financially but NOT enjoying the experience. My mornings started early getting the kids off to school, my days were spent in the office, my evenings were consumed showing houses, then I rushed home to prepare dinner, help the kids with homework and get them off to bed. My weekends were cut short holding open houses and vacations were constantly interrupted by phone calls and work. Logically I knew I wasn't living the life I intended but I wasn't clear on what I wanted so I didn't know how to get out. I finally decided I had enough.
I took the experiences I didn't want and created a statement that allowed me to see a different future.
I wrote on a piece of paper, "I am enjoying time with my family, engaged in work that helps others, setting my own hours and living in abundance." Although somewhat vague, that sentence opened my eyes to infinite new possibilities including the career of my dreams and the path to my ideal life.
Today my mornings are relaxed. I make time for daily gratitude, journaling and reading. When my kids graduated from high school, I moved to my favorite neighborhood in my dream town. I have the privilege of serving as an executive leadership coach for Harvard Business School. I pick and choose my private clients and I'm blessed to work with fascinating people from around the world. My weekends are spent taking long walks, hanging out by the ocean, writing my next book and taking pictures...PLUS I make more money than I ever have before.
